Fashion Friday- MBFW Designer's Anniversaries

September 13 2013 – April Bush

Mercedes Fashion Week was full of runway shows and celebrations.  Fashion's most stylish week did not disappoint.  There were a lot of style lounges, fashion presentations for established and new designers.  The most exciting part of fashion week were the designers who had a real reason to celebrate! DKNY, Tadashi Shoji, and Elie Tahari all celebrated a combined 95 years in the fashion industry. To have  been in the fashion industry for so many years they did not disappoint with giving a modern and fresh appeal to the fashions they presented for spring 2014.
Donna Karan celebrated 25 years of DKNY: 90's inspired street flair with an athletic feel made me happy to watch this collection.  As a 90's teen and young adult I can appreciate the nostalga.
Tadashi Shoji celebrated 30 years in the business and his inspiration for his spring collection was inspired by asserting confidence and the beauty of femininity.
Elie Tahari celebrated 40 years in fashion with a collection inspired by architectural  shapes with a futuristic feel. It was young fresh an modern lots of modern linear shapes.
Congratulations to these iconic designers! I can't wait to see what another 90 plus years will look like.
