Lucky Fabb 2013 DAY ONE

October 30 2013 – April Bush

DAY ONE of Lucky Fabb
What I wore:
Eco Conscience Moto Denim Jacket: ON SALE $120.00 from Imago Dei Boutique, Raleigh, NC
Mixed Media Statement Necklace from Imago Dei Boutique $50.00 (SOLD OUT but will restock soon)
Day One started off exciting! Walking up to the Times Center in New York everyone looked so fashion-forward! It was an easy check-in, great morning treats including coffee!! You know you're at a fashion conference when the lanyard for your pass is a piece of jewelry (from Charming Charlie).  I quickly took my seat to begin the first session with Luck Magazine Editor, Eva Chen!

At the Lucky Fabb Conference
Behind the Curtian with Eva Chen. She looked so chicly-cute wearing a Marc Jacobs dress with a DKNY vintage cropped trurtleneck underneath and amazing shoes from TopShop! Eva is so down to earth.  She makes you feel like the fashion community is open to whoever wants to be apart.  She set the tone for the conference - NICE! It's okay to be NICE in fashion. Hearing about her travels to Paris and her thrill of the hunt when shopping for good fashion finds.  She encouraged us to enjoy the journey! This is the fairy-tale for her and it was encouraging to hear that!
Next panel- Community ROI: Turining Your Readers Into Your Advocates with Erica Domesek, P.S. I Made This; Gabi Gregg, Gabi Fresh and Alish Gould-Simon, Pose ( I love this app). Great conversation moderated by Verena von Pfetten, Executive Digital Director from Lucky Magazine. Main take-away be true to your voice and stand behind your brand YOU! People follow your genuine voice.
A Style Conversation with Eva Mendes was so relaxing and real.  Her energy is so fun and NICE! She didn't take herself too seriously with her fashion chuckling as she removed her shoes to tell us who they were by (Rupert Sanderson). She loves the high-low aspect of fashion and the hunt! She was wearing her collection from New York and Company with at vintage belt she found for $2.99!

At lunch I got Erica Domesek to sign her newest book for me! She gave me her P.S. I Made This Sharpie (great branding!)
While on our lunch break I signed up with ShopSense! Ready to bring my readers good deals with their affiliate program!
Conversation with Bryan Boy one of the "O.G"'s of this blogger game.  He was so candid and real! He has grown and evolved with his blog to turn it into a brand.  He says DITCH the business cards as a blogger?!?!? Wha' I dunno Bryan! Everyone just slouched in their seats as we all had business cards :( -- My opinion KEEP them I would have never remembered 300 bloggers without cards.
His style was cool. He was wearing a Givenchy sweater. He's big on splurging on an time and wearing it many ways especially if you love it! He style is sick!
5 Mistakes you don't want to make!
with Lindsay Calla, Saucy Glossie, Amber Venz, RewardStyle and Mattis Swenson, CEO of Bloglovin'
I wasn't counting to hear 5 but it was a great conversation about being a consistent blogger true to you!

She looked amazing in her new TOPSHOP collection.
Meet another friendly blogger! Lexi  of Lexi with the Curls
Dinner tonight-- The FAMOUS Mr. Chow's Restaurant. My cousin recommends the best restaurants in NYC. I must come back and try them all.
We stopped at the Plaza!
What I wore:
High-Low soft pink sweater with gold sequin pocket from Imago Dei Boutique in Raleigh, NC.

On the way back to the hotel we decided to ditch the cab and walk and I am so glad we did! I ran into the window at Bergdorf Goodman and fell in love with the display from the Diana Vreeland book! I NEED that book it looked amazing!
Back in Times Square! I really had an amazing day. To see more pictures of DAY ONE Lucky Fabb follow my Instagram post (@iconiclifestyleinc) #luckyiconicgirl
